Choose a nominal board thickness below to view one reference construction for a 6-layer FR-4 PCB. The table identifies each copper layer, prepreg and core, from top to bottom.

Most references use 1 oz outer copper and 0.5 oz inner copper. Any different copper weight is stated on the relevant entry. These are reference constructions; the reviewed manufacturing files define the production stackup.

Use the reference in your order

  1. Match the layer count, nominal board thickness and the outer and inner copper weights to your design.
  2. Enter the DIYIPCB reference name and any required layer order, inner copper weight or thickness tolerance in PCB Remark. Manufacturing instructions must be written in the remark; do not leave them only in PDF or readme files inside the Gerber archive.
  3. For controlled impedance, select the relevant service and enter the impedance targets, corresponding layers or nets, trace widths and spacing in PCB Remark. A reference stackup alone does not request impedance control.
  4. If your required thickness or copper weight is not selectable on the ordering page, request an engineering quotation before placing the order. Special constructions and pricing are confirmed after review.
