CC2530 Zigbee End Device V2 — PCB / PCBA

Open-source contact-sensor hardware by carletz for battery-powered door/window monitoring.

Main chip

Texas Instruments CC2530F256: the wireless system-on-chip at the core of this Zigbee end-device design.

Design functions

  • Reed-switch contact detection with a status LED and reset button.
  • CR2032-powered design with an onboard PCB antenna and programming contacts.
  • Upstream support for PTVO firmware configured as a Zigbee end device.

Typical applications

  • Door, window and cabinet open/closed sensing.
  • Battery-powered home-automation nodes and Zigbee development.
  • Integration experiments with Zigbee2MQTT, Home Assistant or OpenHAB using compatible firmware and a Zigbee coordinator.
